ambraude18Going from one genre to the other is generally known to be risky for artists. However, Ambraude proves with brightness that it is not.

As a multidisciplanry artist, she is alternately an Haute Couture dress designer and a painter. Her eclecticism can be surprising but her skills, her sensivity, her imagination and her desire to amaze and share it with the others, allows her all kinds of daring.

Ambraude was born in Martinique, in the French Caribbeans, in a well-named city called Diamant. She started her brilliant studies in Arts at the prestigious “Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Industries. She then pursued a meticulous and academic work at the reputed Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne, opening herself to new perspectives and growing in height a sort of exaltation of the senses. Ambraude delivers in one part of her work a real breath of tropical air…What she would define as “Post-Exotic Art Nouveau », at the confluence of shapes and colors of said European movement and influences of the Caribbean, where I’m from.

This accomplished, delicate collection plays on the lightness and softness of the hues conveyed by the flowers through a ballet of shapes and colors. Free enough, this artist does not get tired of being locked into any concept or technique: lightness, freshness, transparency, fluidity characterize the work of Ambraude and make it difficult to choose her flagship canvas : – see Artsper profile

In order to best illustrate his approach, Ambraude undertakes to dust off the so-called “classic” still lifes, by bringing a deep creative research, revealing intimate childhood memories and interpreting his own relationship and feelings towards this nature.

It is a highlighting of symbols and signs that the human eye can see in nature, and particularly within the plant world of tropical spaces.

There are many possible interpretations:

-The immediate emotion of taking in beauty – i.e. the simple “charm” of plants and flowers

-The ecological resonance – the topic of our time for anyone who is concerned about their mere survival

-The deconstruction of post-exotic stereotypes and the “postcardization” of Caribbean spaces.

Little by little Ambraude deepens his approach by introducing women’s bodies in a subtle way in the heart of these floral motifs. Bouquets, foliage, roots, buds, stems and shoots give life to feminine forms.

It is an introspection, a return to the source, of a nature that is the genesis of all forms of life, of all things concrete or abstract. NATURE”, a feminine name, is embodied by a female figure. This one represents “a mother nature, founder, creator, genitor, nourisher…” which is revealed little by little…

The suggestion which tends towards an abstraction of these subjects (silhouettes + plants) provokes an active implication with the public. This one can thus benefit from the occasion to spontaneously project himself, leaving place to his own imagination, memories, emotions and interpretations. An appropriation of the work becomes then much more exclusive even intimate.

Each person being different (by its history, memories, emotions…), its interpretation of all these organic forms will be also.

It is an opening to the world in the broad sense, an exaltation of the senses which offers a great freedom of perception, feeling, and interpretation.

This universe being well defined, recognizable, and adaptable to various techniques (acrylic on canvas and/or Indian ink on paper) and themes (architectural, animal, sports, cultural…see photos in PJ), Ambraude applies his artistic approach within all his creations. It is a vision of the world, a state of mind, a reminder that “the essential” is within everyone’s reach.

Of this nature which gives us so much good, essential to our survival, can also be very fragile. Let’s not let it turn against us, let’s admire it, let’s cherish it, let’s respect it, in order to live as long as possible in harmony.

Let yourself be seduced by the quality and originality proposed by this multi-faceted artist and intended to provoke truly sensual emotions.

Emotion that also leads to an ecological awareness because it attracts, moves, makes you want to save and protect the object of desire.

In the artistic fields (painting, sculpture, photography…), the artists use several processes in order to call out and make people aware of the fragility of the ecosystem that surrounds us.

It is through a joyful and colorful universe that Ambraude plans to artistically mobilize the “Positive Emotion” that flows in our societies and in each of us in order to question the ecological future of our planet.

good discovery…
